Sickle Cell Disorders and Thalassaemia are the most commonly inherited blood disorders.

They affect people whose families originate from the malarial parts of the world: Africa, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, South East Asia, the Middle East and the Far East. These disorders can be found (less frequently) in all ethnic groups.
